Overnight Care
For those in need of nightly support, overnight care is there to offer security, reassurance, and peace of mind.
1.
What is overnight care?
We know the night can be a more difficult time for some. Overnight care is especially helpful for anyone who feels anxious or vulnerable after sunset, has a medical condition that needs regular monitoring, or simply needs some help with night-time routines.
It means there’s always someone available and dedicated to you, or your loved one, through the night. Our aim is to keep the people we care for safe, give everyone peace of mind, and help you stay as independent as possible.
2.
Overnight care support
Our overnight care services are designed to offer flexible, personalised support, including —
- Facilitating bathroom and personal care needs
- Providing company and comfort throughout the night
- Managing medication and medical aids
- Aiding safe mobility around your home
- Ensuring home-cooked, well-balanced meals
- Bringing security and peace of mind during the night
3.
How does it work?
Support is available during the night, with our carers visiting between 10pm and 8am and providing either Sleeping Nights or Waking Nights. This is different from live-in or 24-hour care, where a carer is available continuously throughout the day and night.
Types of overnight care services —
◖ Sleeping Nights
Our sleeping night carers are there to provide night-time reassurance, comfort and security — and they’ll sleep while you do. This is ideal for anyone who needs help only once or twice during the night. We assist with tasks such as —
- Continence care and bathroom needs
- Medication intake reminders
- Dressings and pain relief
- Getting into and out of bed
◖ Waking Nights
Waking night carers stay awake and available throughout the night. We cover everything included in Sleeping Nights with additional support, making this ideal for anyone who needs more frequent help.
- Changing positions through the night
- Administering medication at regular intervals
- Frequent monitoring of vital signs
- General provision of care after sunset
