FAQs

Your questions, answered

Everything families usually ask us before starting care. Can’t find your answer? Give us a call.

Which areas do you cover?+

We support people across Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan — including Dinas Powys, Penarth, Barry, Sully, Llandough, Cowbridge, Llantwit Major and surrounding rural areas. If you’re not sure whether we reach you, just give us a call.

How quickly can care start?+

After your first call we’ll arrange a free care consultation at a time that suits you. Once we’ve agreed your care plan and matched you with a Community Carer, care can often begin soon after. If your need is urgent, tell us and we’ll do everything we can to help.

Is the first consultation really free?+

Yes. Your care consultation is completely free and there’s no obligation. It’s a chance for us to understand your needs and for you to ask us anything.

How is home care paid for?+

Care can be self-funded, or funded wholly or partly by your local authority — including through Direct Payments. We’re happy to talk through the options and point you to the right people for an assessment.

Can I choose my carer?+

We take special care to match you with a Community Carer who shares your interests and has a similar personality, and we arrange an introduction visit before care begins. If it doesn’t feel right, we’ll find a better match.

How often is my care reviewed?+

Your first review is after your first week of care, then every 3 months. We can review at any time if your needs change.

What is the difference between sleeping and waking nights?+

A sleeping night carer stays overnight and sleeps while you do, helping once or twice if needed. A waking night carer stays awake all night for people who need more frequent support.

Do you support people with drug or alcohol dependency?+

Yes. Our assertive outreach service supports people affected by drug and alcohol dependency, homelessness and mental health difficulties, helping them access medical care, counselling, housing and other services.

How quickly will you reply to my message?+

We aim to respond to every enquiry within 18 hours. For anything urgent, please call us on 01446 501618.
